The Macmillan Welfare Benefits Service offers a free, confidential welfare benefits advice service to people living with cancer or with a long-term illness and their carers.

The Macmillan Welfare Benefits advisers may be able to help people with:

  • applying for social security benefits and tax credits (including
  • disability benefits and means tested benefits)
  • accessing Macmillan and other charitable grants
  • applying for help with health costs, such as travelling to hospital
  • applying for transport concessions, such as the disabled parking badge
  • dealing with other benefit issues, such as challenging decisions
  • appeal against benefit decisions
  • deal with other matters such as debt, employment or housing problems
