Our Team

Central and South Sussex Citizens Advice employs around forty permanent staff and around 300 volunteer advisers. The team is directed by the Senior Management Team is made up of the Chief Executive Officer, Client Services Manager and Business and Support Manager.

Francesca Arcidiaco

Francesca has worked in the public affairs and regulatory field at senior executive and board level for 20+ years. She is highly experienced in communications and government relations in the UK, EU and European national arenas. She has worked in the corporate and not-for-profit sectors, including a large consumer organisation and its European federation. She specialises  in financial services markets, with a wide range of commercial sectors’ knowledge and a proven consumer advocacy record. 

With strong supervisory and management skills, she brings expertise in risk management, strategy setting, corporate positioning, campaigning/lobbying, policy development and public representation.

Andrew Brock

Now retired from full-time employment, Andrew has worked in engineering, marketing and general management for a multi-national telecommunications company, and more recently as a management consultant in transport and communications. Andrew has wide experience of local government, having until recently been a County and Town councillor for 10 years. He is now a member of Mid Sussex District Council. He is a trustee of the Town Museum, is an Imberhorne School governor and is also active in other local organisations.

Irene Campbell

Irene’s professional career has been with East and West Sussex Country Council. She began by stamping books at Haywards Heath Library and ended up at East Sussex as Assistant Director being responsible for front facing services: libraries, the Record Office, Registrars, Customer Service, Complaints, Freedom of Information and Data Protection She also picked up experience on electronic information creation, websites and Music services on the way.

Irene has been a trustee for over 20 years in various organisations, mostly literary , but also has been a Governor of a secondary school and is currently a Trustee of Cats Protection and the RSA, the latter being historically responsible amongst other things for chimney sweep brushes, public toilets, lifeboats, the Great Exhibition and shorthand/typing exams.

The particular skills she brings to the table are strategic thinking, volunteer management, HR, fund raising, building construction and maintenance, information science, enquiry work, customer service and project management.

She relaxes by cooking for family and friends and travelling the world, both of which she writes about.

Mike Link

Mike worked for West Sussex County Council for over 25 years, in highway construction, transport policy, transport and land use planning, and economic development. From 2010 to 2012 he was lead officer for the Council on its corporate partnership work including with the voluntary and community sector. A chartered engineer and fellow of the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transport, Mike was the County Council’s head of transport planning until 2008 before working in Adult Social Care and Health. Responsible for promoting and increasing the extent of services jointly commissioned by the Council and NHS in West Sussex, he facilitated the transfer of Public Health from the NHS to the Council. Previous experience includes consultancy and regional government.

Sue McMillan

Sue’s background is in local government finance. Earlier in her career she worked in London and qualified as an accountant with the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA). A stint followed working for one of the local authority associations, researching financial issues and negotiating with central government on finance matters. After a career break she worked as a school bursar for a short while before resuming her local government career at Horsham District Council.  She was there for twenty years, with her final roles being Head of Financial and Legal Services and Head of Finance. Sue was for many years a governor of a secondary school in East Grinstead, but is now retired and involved with a number of voluntary organisations in Worthing.

Sarah Trowbridge

Sarah has had a broad retail career for over 30 years, operating at a senior level in supply chain, online, customer service and operations, most recently as a regional manager responsible for supermarkets and convenience stores in Sussex.  A trained coach with experience of leading teams through transformational change in a large complex organisation.
